Head of Packaging
1) Please tell us about your career progression at GAB.
I started as a Packaging Supervisor in 1979 with Malayan Breweries (Malaya) Sdn Bhd. After the merger with Guinness Malaysia Bhd, I was appointed as a Training Officer and was later promoted to Assistant Packaging Manager. The company gave me the opportunity to take a few courses in brewing overseas, which enabled me to further progress to Technical Training Manager and now, I am heading the Packaging department of the company. |

| 2) How do you feel about the opportunities and training programmes that GAB provides? |
Personal and professional growth really depends on the individual’s drive to improve. I always believe that when the company grows, you need to grow along to strike the perfect balance.
As the company grew, I showed my interest in wanting to learn more about the brewing process, and I was given the opportunity to pursue a diploma in brewing and packaging in Holland and also took up some training courses in packaging machines in Germany. The company always ensures that the employee is equipped with the right skills to perform to the best of his/her ability.
